Who are the founders of Zenskar?

Zenskar was founded by Apurv Bansal and Saurabh Agarwal, second-time founders with deep experience across billing, accounting, and financial infrastructure. Apurv previously co-founded Wishpicker (acquired by Snapdeal), worked in Product at Google, and was a fintech investor at Elevation Capital. He holds a B.Tech from IIT Delhi and an MBA from Harvard Business School. 

Saurabh co-founded BC Jukebox (acquired by Gaana), built products at Basepair, and began his career as a Quant at Deutsche Bank. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay. Together, they bring a strong combination of product, engineering, and financial insight, shaped by years of building tools at the intersection of technology and finance.

Using Zenskar

What inputs does Zenskar need to automate order to cash?

Zenskar only needs contract/pricing terms and usage data to fully automate your order-to-cash process. That’s it. You don’t need to restructure your product catalog, rework your quote templates, or change how you sell. This is the core of our vision, a billing and revenue recognition engine that adapts to your contracts, not the other way around.

How do I import usage data into Zenskar?

You can import usage data into Zenskar in three ways:

  • Pull from 100+ data sources: Use direct integrations or remote queries to ingest usage from your existing systems. Zero engineering bandwidth, takes a couple of days, and is most used and recommended by our customers.
  • Push via API: Send events in real-time with a rate limit of up to 100,000 events per second. This requires engineering bandwidth and is least preferred by our customers.
  • Manual upload: Old-school way, but if you want, you can still import usage events in bulk via CSV, or add them manually.

Once your data is in, Zenskar makes it easy to turn raw events into billable metrics using:

  • A no-code visual builder
  • An SQL builder for full control

Can I invite an observer to Zenskar?

Yes, you can invite an observer to Zenskar by assigning limited user permissions.

An existing user can be granted the "Can Read User" permission, which allows them to view other users in their organization without being able to modify roles, permissions, or settings. This is useful for stakeholders who need visibility into account activity or user access without requiring full administrative privileges.

Do you integrate with any CRM tools?

Yes, Zenskar integrates with a wide range of CRM tools to seamlessly connect with your existing sales and finance stack. Whether you're using Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zenskar can sync customer data, contracts, subscriptions, and usage directly from your CRM.

Do you offer CPQ integrations?

We integrate with tools like DealHub and Microsoft Dynamics, enabling you to pull in deals, contracts, and pricing configurations directly into Zenskar for billing and revenue recognition.

How do user permissions work in Zenskar?

In Zenskar, user permissions are managed using a combination of role-based access control (RBAC) and permission-based access control, allowing for flexible and secure user management. 

  • Each user is assigned a role—such as Admin, Editor, or Viewer—which defines a baseline set of permissions. 
  • These roles act as collections of permissions that determine what a user can access or modify within the system. While each user is typically assigned a single role, additional permissions can be granted beyond the default scope of that role, offering more granular control when needed.
  • Permissions in Zenskar are defined using actions like Read, Write, Delete, and Approve, and are applied to specific resources within the platform. 
  • When a user logs in, the system first authenticates their identity, then checks their role and associated permissions to determine what actions they’re authorized to perform. 
  • For example, an Admin might have full access to modify or delete billing rules, while a Viewer may only have read-only access to reports and dashboards.

This dual-layered system ensures that users have precisely the access they need—no more, no less—making it easier for finance and operations teams to maintain control and compliance. User creation, role assignment, and permission management can all be handled directly within Zenskar’s user management settings.

What types of pricing models can I set up with Zenskar? Does it require coding or engineering effort to set up pricing on Zenskar?

Does Zenskar use my data for AI training?

Zenskar does not currently train any proprietary AI/ML models using customer data.

The clause in our MSA is forward-looking—it simply grants us the ability to use aggregated or de-identified data to improve our services in the future, should we decide to train models internally.

That said, we are fully committed to respecting your preferences. If you'd prefer, we’re happy to opt you out, and we will not use your data for any AI model training purposes—now or in the future.

Opting out will not impact your access to the Zenskar platform or limit any of its core functionality. We will also ensure that any AI-powered features you choose to use will operate without involving your data in any model training or improvement processes.

Pricing

Does Zenskar offer a free trial or a sandbox to try out different modules?

Yes, you can test Zenskar’s complete feature set in the sandbox to experiment, develop and test the environment extensively and experience the platform in action. No credit card, no risk.

Is Zenskar pricing linked to the revenue of the company?

We want to work with our customers as long-term partners. We don't charge a % of your revenue. We are an enterprise platform built for automation and scale, our usage and rate limits are generous and grow with you. As your business thrives and your billing needs evolve, we can revisit the pricing to find a win-win.

What can I do in Zenskar during the sandbox testing stage?

During the Zenskar sandbox testing stage, you can fully configure your sandbox environment with contracts, customers, usage data (or aggregates), and journal entries—allowing you to evaluate the platform in the context of your real-world billing and finance workflows. 

You also have the option to connect test or production accounts of your CRM, ERP, tax, or payment systems to the Zenskar sandbox. 

This enables a side-by-side comparison of Zenskar’s outputs with those from your current systems for a representative sample of contracts, invoices, and journal entries from your last billing cycle.
