Basic Information

The essentials, in one place.

Name:Zenskar
Category:AI-native revenue automation platform (billing and revenue recognition software)
Website:https://www.zenskar.com
Who it serves:B2B companies with any pricing that has some complexity
What it does:Automates the order-to-cash process, from usage metering and billing to collections, revenue recognition and analytics, between the CRM/CPQ and the ERP

Background

Why Zenskar exists, and who built it.

Billing tools built for simple subscriptions cannot handle usage-based, hybrid and custom contracts, so finance teams fall back on spreadsheets or in-house builds. The founders spoke to 500+ finance leaders before building it.

Zenskar was founded by Apurv Bansal (CEO; previously Google and Elevation Capital; IIT Delhi, Harvard Business School) and Saurabh Agrawal (CPTO; previously Deutsche Bank; IIT Bombay), both second-time founders. It is headquartered in New York and raised a $15M Series A in April 2026.

Billing and Contracts

Zenskar Billing generates branded invoices for subscription, usage-based, hybrid and custom contract pricing. The Contracts Agent reads contracts from PDFs, the CRM/CPQ or API and extracts billing terms.

Usage Metering and Entitlements

Usage Metering pulls usage data from data warehouses, API or file upload and turns it into billable metrics defined in plain language or SQL. Entitlements tracks prepaid credits, usage caps and feature access in real time.

Revenue Recognition

Revenue Recognition (RevRec) automates ASC 606 and IFRS 15 from contract terms. Performance obligations and revenue schedules are generated by AI and reviewed by finance, and journal entries sync to ERPs such as NetSuite, QuickBooks and Xero.

Collections and Customer Portal

Collections runs dunning sequences and payment reminders automatically, with aging and DSO reporting. The Customer Portal lets customers view invoices, track usage and pay on their own.

Analytics and Agents

Analytics reports MRR, ARR, NRR, revenue waterfall and churn in real time and answers questions in plain language. The Agents Marketplace lets finance teams deploy and chain purpose-built agents across order-to-cash.

How Zenskar Works

What Zenskar is built on.

  • Agents execute, humans supervise: Zenskar's operating model. AI agents handle operational work across order-to-cash, and every AI-generated output is surfaced for finance to review and approve.
  • Contract-first data model: Zenskar’s contract-first data model treats every customer agreement as a dynamic, deterministic object on a graph. This architecture is purpose-built to handle the extreme complexity of modern B2B businesses.
  • Zen AI: Zenskar's conversational agent. It answers questions and completes tasks in chat, and works in Slack, Microsoft Teams and AI assistants through MCP.
  • Integrations: Connects to CRMs and CPQs (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERPs (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero), payments and tax (Stripe, Avalara, Anrok) and data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).

Point of View

What Zenskar believes about finance automation.

  1. 1Most billing tools were built for the subscription era. Adding AI on top of them does not remove their limits.
  2. 2Finance automation needs deterministic calculation with AI agents around it, not AI doing the maths.
  3. 3Billing should adapt to the contract, not the contract to the billing tool.
  4. 4Humans stay in control. AI actions should be transparent, traceable and open to override.
  5. 5The goal is Zero-Touch Finance: agents handle the operational work and finance reviews and decides.
